Birds of prey

Birds of prey should only be approachable if really sick or injured, even with an injury they will be very reluctant for you to approach.  They will become very stressed and may injure themselves further.

It is best to get in contact with a local raptor centre who will come out and collect the bird for treatment.  If they are unable to help and you need to pick up the bird yourself then remember that claws and beaks can be dangerous, so take suitable precautions including protective gloves.
