Registered Veterinary Nurse (Night Nurse) - Saffron Walden
We are looking for a motivated RVN to come and join our fantastic nursing team. You will be joining our growing team located in a beautiful part of Essex within easy reach of London, Cambridge and Stansted Airport. You will be based at our RCVS accredited Saffron Walden Veterinary Hospital, and help to provide the 24/7 in-patient care and emergency service.
We provide our own in-house emergency cover and you will be an integral part of our dedicated night team. The rota will be 7 on/7 off. The hours will be 8pm-8am weekdays and 7pm-8am weekends.
The ideal candidate will have good all round experience and work well independently. This is a truly hands on position where you will get to utilise your nursing skills.
CPD is funded and encouraged. Accommodation may be available if required. Pay will be dependent on experience.

2 x Consult Assistants
We are looking for two individuals to help our vets in the consulting room and assist our nurses. This role could suit an individual who may want to go into veterinary nursing, as role progression could be offered to the right individual.
Duties to include:
Handling dogs, cats, rabbits, small furries and chickens
All aspects of animal husbandry
Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness
Aiding the veterinary nurses
Position 1 Hours - Part Time
Tuesday (Bocking) 3:30pm – 7pm (3 ½ hours)
Thursday (Bocking) 3:30pm – 7pm (3 ½ hours)
Friday (Saffron Walden) 2pm – 7pm (5 hours)
Every other Saturday (Dunmow) 8.15am – 12pm (3 ¾ hours)
Position 2 Hours - Part Time
Friday (Bocking) 3:30pm – 7pm (3 ½ hours)
Saturday (Bocking) 11.30am – 2pm (2 1/2 hours)
There will be further hours available in the New Year at Dunmow.
You must be reliable, motivated, kind and hard working, and hold a full driving license. Experience is preferred but training will be provided.
We are looking for an individual to start as soon as possible.

Mercer and Hughes Veterinary Surgeons are looking for a part-time receptionist to join our friendly driven team for a minimum of 10 hours a week (with an opportunity for overtime). You will be working across our 4 independent surgeries in Saffron Walden, Great Dunmow, Stansted, and occasionally Bocking in Braintree.
The hours will vary and include morning shifts starting at 8:30am, lunch time shifts, and afternoon shifts which could finish at 7pm or 8:30pm depending on branch opening hours.
Some of the main duties include (but are not limited to);
- Welcoming our clients and their pets during consultation clinics
- Answer the telephone and attending to client enquiries at reception
- Making appointments for consultations, operations and visits
- Take telephone messages and relay them to the appropriate person
- Process insurance forms
- Process pet passports
- Take orders for repeat prescriptions and food orders
- Enter emailed lab reports onto the appropriate client record
- Prepare admission consent forms for operations booked for the following day
- Ensure the reception area and waiting room are kept clean and welcoming
- Take and process payments
- Replenish shop stock items
- Cash reconciliation including end of day cash up
- Make sure post is sent daily
- Liaise with the clinic nurse to ensure continuity of food and drug supply
